FAQs

WHERE DO YOU TRAIN?

STUDIO training is held at Donte’s Boxing Gym in Rockville, MD.

OUTDOOR training is held at local parks in the Rockville area. When you schedule a session we’ll fill you in with location details!

WILL I GET HIT?

Nope. Training is no-contact.

OKAY NOT A QUESTION, BUT I’VE NEVER BOXED BEFORE. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I’M DOING.

No experience? No problem. Most of our first-timers have never tried boxing before. We'll teach you everything you need to know and guide you through each session.

DO YOU USE HEAVY BAGS?

Studio training incorporates heavy bags.

At the moment we’re not using heavy bags for outdoor training. Instead we use light handweights (1-3lbs) for boxing drills. People are seriously surprised how effective and challenging the weights are!

I HAVEN’T WORKED OUT IN A WHILE. WILL I SURVIVE A SESSION?

You’re not alone! Most people start training with us after long periods of inactivity. You'll be offered modifications and can take breaks as needed. The goal here is to find challenge at your level and progress safely.

Do keep in mind that boxing conditioning is a strenuous activity, so if you have a medical condition or are unsure, you should consult with your physician prior to training. This is generally recommended when embarking on a new exercise program.

WHAT DO I NEED FOR TRAINING?

STUDIO
Masks are required. For boxing training, you’ll need your own gloves and wraps. Both are available for purchase on site. Please bring a credit or debit card as Donte’s Boxing Gym is a cash-less studio.

OUTDOOR
Masks are optional. If you wish to incorporate mitt training into your session, you’ll need your own gloves and wraps.

ALL SESSIONS
Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and athletic shoes you can move in. We also recommend bringing water and towel, if preferred.

WHAT ARE YOUR COVID SAFETY PROCEDURES?

The health and safety of our community is top priority. We’ve implemented appropriate masking policies, social distancing, and rigorous cleaning protocols for equipment to keep everyone safe and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
